This weekend is the final round of the Florida Winter Am Series. The new 4 round format has been a great success, along with the new “D” Classes to help new riders ease into this great series. We want to thank everyone who has joined us so far, and hope to see everyone this weekend at Gatorback!

Also, this is your final chance to ride Gatorback Cycle Park before the Loretta Lynn Regional Qualifier coming up, so take advantage of this opportunity to line up at the gate this weekend!

*Breaking News – We just found out that round 1 of the Winter AM series will be an AMA Pro AM Points Paying Event*

We hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season! The Unlimited Sports MX crew has been hard at work preparing for the 40th Annual Winter Am Series Presented by FMF.  With some big changes in store for this year, it should be one of the best seasons yet! As you probably know, we’ve now gone to four rounds for the series, utilizing the absolute best tracks that Florida has to offer. Also, for the first time ever, the Winter Am series will contain a “D/Beginner” Class for those who are just starting out in racing, this is designed to be for beginner/novice riders only, and the link to the guidelines for racing in the class can be found below.

The Mini O’s is about two weeks away, and the details are being finalized on all the activities going on throughout the week, check the schedule for the full breakdown. For now, here are some of the highlights.

40th Annual Winter Am Series

This week, the 2011 Winter Am Schedule has been posted, with the big news being that there are only FOUR ROUNDS this year for the 40th Annual Florida Winter Am Series.
Not to worry though, it will have the same great factory contingencies, $2500 Payback for the pro class, as well as series awards for those who place. The schedule is as follows:
Rd. 1: Gatorback – Jan 1-2
Rd 2: Dade City – Jan 8-9
Rd 3: Reddick – Jan 15-16
Rd 4: Gatorback – Jan 22-23

Winter Am Series Schedule

January 2011 will mark the 40th annual Florida Winter AM Series. Since 1970 the Florida Winter AM Series has been the most recognized and prestigious motocross series in the United States.

For years top pro motocross racers like Bob Hannah, David Baily, Jeff Stanton, Damon Bradshaw, Kevin Windham and many other racers across the United States have flocked to Florida in the Winter to train and race this six race series that is loaded with competition. If you want to be the best, you have to ride with the best.

The first round starts at Gatorback Cycle Park on January 1, 2011. Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha all support this series with their contingency payout to the top racers of each round. Dunlop tires is a major sponsor and the winners of the overall series will get free tires.

Winter National Olympics Coming Up – Gatorback !

This year marks the 39th Annual Thor Winter National Olympics, presented by Pro Circuit, at Gatorback Cycle Park. Three days of supercross and three days of motocross with the best amateur motocross racers in the world gathering at Gatorback Cycle Park in Gainesville, Florida to battle it out to be the Olympiad Champion. Special awards, like the Pro Circuit Platinum Pipe, Scott Golden Goggle, Dunlop Silver Tire, Fox Bronze Boot, and the CTI Iron Man award are won by racers that have the best finishes in both motocross and supercross for the entire event.

Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, KTM, Cobra plus Dunlop, Pro Circuit, FMF, Alpinestars and countless other aftermarket companies attend this event every year to show off their new products and support their riders. This is an event you do not want to miss.

Early parking (arriving before Saturday morning) $50/vehicle
Gate fees up until Tuesday morning $50/per person
After Monday the price goes down $5/day for gate fee
Pre Entry $80/Amateur / $90 for Pro per class
Post Entry $100/Amateur / $110/Pro per class
Unlimited Sports Membership $25 (purchased at the track on Sunday)
AMA membership required $39 ( can purchase at track or at AMA website)
Transponder rental $40 ($100 deposit, which is refunded when transponder is returned after event)

Now that the Gold Cup Series has finished (Results posted on the website) It’s time to start gearing up for the Mini O’s coming later this month. Look for the full schedule of events, pricing, and sponsor activities that will be going down all week during the first Amateur National of the year.

Earlier this week, the flyer was posted for the “All Girls Ride with Ashley and Tarah” You can pre-register for that by clicking on the link above. It will be from 12-4 p.m. On Tuesday Nov. 23rd.
