South Florida Track? New Hope…..

DZP was recently approached by some folks who are making contact with key individuals, in hopes of getting closer to opening a track again in South Florida.  This project is in its’ infancy stages, and the folks are taking one baby step at a time.  They are being very careful in an effort to do it right the first time and form partnerships with the right people in the right places.  So I wanted to let everyone know that there are people working on our one common goal, a South Florida Motocross Track!

I would like to start by gathering names and email addresses of everyone who will support the opening of a new track in South Florida.  If you are a rider, family member, local business, or anyone who is interested, please send DZP your contact information by clicking the EMAIL LINK below.  I will start a contact database, as a first step, to help these individuals understand just how much a motocross track would benefit South Florida.

We need everyone to pull together, think of what you can do, or what can be done, and let’s get it done!  SPREAD THE WORD!

EVEN IF YOU CAN’T PROVIDE A SERVICE OR VOLUNTEER STILL SEND IN YOUR CONTACT INFO, WE NEED HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE TO SEND IN THEIR NAME.

PLEASE INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING IN YOUR EMAIL:

FIRST AND LAST NAME AND ALL FAMILY MEMBERS

LOCATION (CITY YOU LIVE IN)

PHONE NUMBER

EMAIL ADDRESS

HOW YOU ARE CURRENTLY INVOLVED IN MOTOCROSS

(Optional) WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP – SERVICES YOU CAN PROVIDE (SUPPORT/VOLUNTEERING ETC)

Hey Shelly…any more word on the track situation? I heard some rumors about something at Lockhardt Stadium…only hear say but second hand from a good source.

a local motocross track would also greatly benefit the motorcycle dealers as well for current and future sales
learning in the dirt is the surest way to assure you have better skills for the street how many 25 yr olds buy there first bike then go out and hurt themselves and give motorcycles a bad name

  5. rider lynch says:

i am rider lynch (next ricky charmichal). and a track closer to home would definitly nice. it is hard to drive two miles to go to the closest track to my house i am only 12 and getting better so i need a place close to home to hone my skills! THAT WOULD MAKE ME SUPER-PUMMPED!!!!!!!!

  6. Jack 113 says:

I sent in my contact information. I can’t wait to see how successful these tracks will be.

  7. doublezero says:

Yes Erik I agree. Actually, there are more than two, I know of three separate groups trying to start up a track. I was talking about this just earlier today, and we will be contacting all to combine efforts into one track centrally located in South Florida. If it becomes a reality, we will have one awesome track for sure.

  8. Erik # 5 says:

i have heard that there may be more than one track in the works. As great as the sound of two tracks sounds, it may not be so great. One would take away from the other and both would suffer loss due to competition. We would actually be best with one well built, well run, and well promoted track. Just my opinion.

  9. Dts#28 says:

We need a central track location to benefit both coast’s . As for dealer support marketing would be there easiest way to help track with monthly cost. Renting track for demo or customer appreciation day. MX tracks can be profitable when run with right people.

    • Erik # 5 says:

      Absolutely !!!

      • pug28 says:

Alyssa, I am working with a completely different group of folks not related to STMX or the tribe, than who you are working with. I don’t want everyone thinking it is related. So if we get two tracks down here, that would be even better!! Go South Florida!

  13. Rivera 456 says:

Giddy up! Now THAT would be a great excuse to buy a new bike and some new gear!!!!!!!!!

  14. Erik # 5 says:

The dealers in south florida ( rick case, riva, palmetto, etc ) really need to step up and support this. They stand to lose lots in revenue due to people quitting riding and just plain not riding enough to wear out common parts like tires, levers, oils, etc. They have sat back and reaped the benefits of riders buying bikes and parts for years. I would almost recommend a boycot of any dealer who didnt have their name in the hat of this.

    • doublezero says:

      Agreed!

    • Ivan Z says:

Absolutelly; that was my fisrt thougth when they closed STMX. Why are this guys not putting thier weigh behind the people trying to do something?
The Miami MX park for example, I’m sure the county would be more willing to help and make things easier to re-open if some of this guys were supporting this.

In any case let’s all hope this new group of people get some traction and we get a place to ride.
