Sunday evening after the races.

What a GREAT weekend!  Saturday I took lots of pictures, and they will be posted soon.  I did not video tape the races today, just took pictures.  I did video tape some of the Pumpkin race and the costume contest.  Took pictures of the pumpkin carving contest, and there were some very creative designs.  Thanks to Erik Fortin #5, and his little girl Sam for carving a DZP pumpkin, and they got  3rd place!  Saturday was just awesome!  Practice, pumpkin race, pumpkin carving contest, costume contest, trick or treating, haunted trail walk, then a live band!

Mr. Swingle, I’m so glad everything is working out for your son. Things on scene were appearing to go from bad to worse. I was feeling the same frustrations you were. Hope I see you in the future. Good luck.

I have been trying to locate you ,so that I can tell you how much your
care at the track was appreciated by myself and my family. My Email
address is williamswingle@comcast.net Please drop me a line when you
      get a chance.

Jordan Swingle # 161 is home!!! He is looking forward to seeing all
his great friends! Even though you are all fierce competitors, at the
end of the day win or loose, you are all supportive of each other.
I will continue to update you on Jordan’s progress. Thank you all
for the nice comments on the DZP Blog and the many prayers that were
said. Thank you to DZP for such a wonderful forum that allows us to
communicate with one another!!To Shelly thank you for the magnificent
photos you provide us with weekly. You capture moments of our children
that we will all treasure for the rest of our lives. With all that has
gone on I have forgotten to thank a person who was at the track and
provided expert assistance after the accident. He was an off duty
paramedic who without his, Greg Ditzian and Peter Lloyd’s help Jordan’s
condition may have deteriorated quickly. If I left anyone else out who
assisted out on the track please forgive me. The frightening nature of
this incident didn’t give me much time to notice who else was around.
If you were also out there and assisted, myself and my family want to
    thank you.

    Bill Swingle

Here is another update on Jordan by his father via email to DZP:

Jordan got out of bed today and took several steps with a walker. He does not remember anything about the crash and if anyone could tell him where it happened and what happened he would like to know. I tried to tell him where I thought it was and he could not figure out the location. His condition is improving and they will be moving him out of ICU today. His memory is good then bad, but to be expected with a brain injury. I told him about his neck brace and helmet bracking from the impact and he stated that they probably saved his life. Today he asked when he is going to be able to ride again and this will be something we will all need to discuss as a family!!!He did know the entire lay out of the race track and where every jump and berm were located. I will keep you all posted on his condition and hope to see all of you at the Hard Rock with Jordan for the banquet.

Received an email from Bill Swingle regarding Jordan’s status:

    Hi Everybody,

Just wanted to update you on my son Jordan Swingle # 161’s current condition. He remains in the Intensive Care Unit at Lawnwood Regional Medial Center in serious but stable condition. He sustained internal bleeding in his brain with 2 broken thoracic vertebra’s and a broken nose. I know you all know his competitive nature on the track and it appears that this is also his nature in life. After being incubated on the track he remained on a mechanical ventilator over night. This morning after they allowed him to wake up from a medication induced coma and in true Jordan form he became frustrated with the breathing
tube and pulled it out of his throat. The good news is that he is breathing on his own and is starting to talk and asking some questions. His vital signs are all stable and he is moving all extremities. Thanks to Greg Ditzian for helping me get to him quickly on his golf cart as every second counted at that time. The care at the hospital has been outstanding. Please, for me today hug your child and tell them you love them, PLEASE!!!!! Thank you for the love and support you have shown me and my family. The racing community has been a big part of Jordan’s life and he loves you all!!!!!!!

    God Bless you all!!!
    Bill Swingle
